Hello, As long as there is a little bit of freeboard above the lure, the 16 gauge double polished vinyl will stick to itself. How many of what size and style lure are you putting in each pocket? The shingled design and the reversed top pocket sleeve should also keep the lures from falling out. Please advise if you have a defective tackle roll, we will certainly get you taken care of. do you make e roll for lake michigan trolling spoons? if not i have an idea for one, i have a ton of spoons an have modified a box for them but have more than that box will hold, just bought your 54 pocket roll for bandits and shads and minnows and said that pocket system would work great for spoons.

Hello Don, Thanks for trying out a Classic Pro! I have a unit loaded up with Doctor Spoons (Yellowbird) and they fit nicely. The Big Hitter will handle up to 6 1/2″ spoons.

Which roll is best for plastics and jerk baits such as gulp, zoom, culprit etc.. ?

Definately the Big Hitter for your soft plastics. The BH will also work for XL jerkbaits. The bottom 18 pockets of Classic Pro are 6.75″ wide which will handle the majority of standard size jerkbaits. The top 36 pockets are 5″ wide which are a little too narrow for jerkbaits but will handle up to 2.5 crankbaits.

When the roll is rolled up is there a label to identify what is in the pockets so you don’t have to unroll it to find your specific lures.

There is not a ID label provided at this time. However, each Unit has a 2″ x 4″ Velcro loop fastener sewn on the outside. We are working on an ID holder with a Velcro hook fastener. Should have these available by the end of the year.

Okay so if I have numerous tackle rolls and I want the one with crankbaits I will have to unroll them until I find the one I’m looking for. That 2″x4″ Velcro loop fastener on the outside you mentioned what is that for.

Will the plastic sleeves become brittle over time? If so do you have a life time expectations.

The pocket sleeves do not become brittle. In very cold weather the vinyl will become rigid but will not crack or discolor. The original prototypes were made for personal use in 1994 and the vinyl has remained pliable. With proven performance, we use the same vinly today. Thanks for asking…and the order! Ken

Yes, the Slugger Pro has eight pockets 15″ wide X 7.5″ deep. You may be able to put two lures per pocket depending on the girth and if they have a large diving bill.
